Winter Village Tampa

As I sit here nursing my four-month-old, and looking at my two-year-old napping peacefully…who am I kidding? My four-month-old is half nursing, half garbling baby screams at my chest, and I’m praying my two-year-old sleeps long enough for me to finally get some cleaning done. However, nursing always gives me some “free” time to write and reflect.

To start off the Christmas excitement, we went to a tree lighting event. This was the first tree lighting I’ve ever been to and it was so stinking cute. I’m a sucker for lights, ornaments, and Christmas music. I planned my whole day around when I would be able to get my girls after work and rush over to the event before my anxiety could take over. I would be lying if I said it wasn’t terrifying going to events alone with my girls. Well, that’s a little dramatic. The point is, I’m in a phase in my life where I’m venturing out again and throwing myself into uncomfortable situations.

Life with one is a piece of cake, but add in another tiny human, and oh man. The struggle is REAL. My husband met us out there after about an hour, and it took me about five minutes to get over any anxiety I felt and I just have FUN. My girls will only be little for so long, and I don’t want anything to get in the way of our time together. I intend on making their childhoods full of “WOW MOMMY LOOK AT THAT” moments.

Okay, that’s enough mushy stuff, back to the fun stuff. There was ice skating, a live band singing Christmas classics, and a giant screen where they played Disney’s The Santa Claus after they lit the trees.

Why have I never gone to such cool events before now?! I am beyond ecstatic to discover and enjoy all things Christmas-related this month. What are you most excited about this Christmas season?

If you want to join in on the fun, check out the park below.
