The Florida Aquarium

What are some of your favorite summer activities? One of my all-time favorite places to visit is the Florida Aquarium.

Here are a few reasons why:

  1. You can learn about animals and their ecosystems.

  2. It's a great way to unplug and spend quality time with your family. You can read about the colorful coral reef and gush over the cute otters splashing around.

  3. The Aquarium supports critical environmental conservation efforts. It is truly amazing to see all they have done. You can read more about their programs here.

  4. They have an amazing splash pad and connecting playground which allows my daughters to get out their energy. Right next to the splash pad is a covered playground. There are large seated areas around the entire kid zone for parents.

  5. There is also an entire changing and bathroom station outside, located right behind the splash pad.

  6. There is a bar right next to the splash pad where you can get snacks, juice, and adult drinks!

While I love exploring new places in Tampa, the Florida Aquarium will forever be a staple for my family. I’ve had amazing memories here, dating back to field trips in elementary school.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Parking is $10.

  • There is a restaurant and gift shop located on the first floor.

  • Purchase your tickets ahead of time! You can bypass the time and secure your spot.

  • Make sure you pack bathing suits for the kids, towels, shades, and sunscreen!

  • Pack yourself water in thermos, it gets extremely hot.

  • You do not have to wear a mask if you are vaccinated.
